Druid macros

Most druid macros shift you into the right form, or out of it, because each form has its own abilities. These are the ones that turn up most across 18 independent guides and forum threads, most used first, each written for Forever and checked against the beta spell list.

Most used

Explain line by line

Moonkin Form can't cast heals in Forever, so the macro leaves any form, Moonkin included. Wild Growth is new in Forever and comes at level 40.

Mouse-over Growl

Feral · 7 sources

You taunt the enemy under your cursor, or your target if there's none, without changing target.

#showtooltip

#showtooltip Growl

Explain line by line

Shift for Challenging Roar

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift] Challenging Roar; [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Growl

Explain line by line

Growl doesn't start the global cooldown in Forever, and has an 8-second cooldown.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances.

Rebirth or Revive

6 sources

You bring back the dead friend under your cursor or targeted: Rebirth in combat, Revive out of it.

#showtooltip [combat] Rebirth; Revive
/cancelform [noform:5]
/cast [combat,@mouseover,help,dead][combat,help,dead] Rebirth; [@mouseover,help,dead][help,dead] Revive

Explain line by line

2 other versions

Explain line by line

Nature's Swiftness first

#showtooltip Rebirth
/cancelform [noform:5]
/cast Nature's Swiftness
/cast [@mouseover,help,dead][help,dead] Rebirth

Explain line by line

Revive is new in Forever: it comes at level 12, has a 10-second cast and works only out of combat. Rebirth has a 30-minute cooldown and can be cast in Moonkin Form (ForeverChanges).

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances.

Ability with auto-attack

Feral · 6 sources

You start auto-attacking and queue Maul in one press, and the ! keeps a second press from taking Maul off your next swing. The same shape suits Primal Bite, Lacerate, Swipe, Claw, Shred, Rake, Rip and Ferocious Bite.

#showtooltip
/startattack
/cast !Maul

Explain line by line

Another version

Maul with another attack

#showtooltip
/startattack
/cast !Maul
/cast Lacerate

Explain line by line

Forever adds two Bear attacks: Primal Bite at level 25, with a 6-second cooldown, and Lacerate at 42. Maul doesn't start the global cooldown, so it can share a press with another attack.

Form macros

Many druid abilities work in one form only. These check your form and shift you if you're in the wrong one: /cancelform [noform:3] drops any other form, and the next line puts you in Cat. In Classic the form numbers are 1 Bear or Dire Bear, 2 Aquatic, 3 Cat, 4 Travel and 5 Moonkin, counting only the forms you know, so a druid who skipped the Aquatic Form quest has Cat as 2. Cat Form comes at level 20 and Dire Bear Form at 40; before 40, write Bear Form.

Cat Form powershift

Feral · 14 sources

You go to Cat Form from any form, and pressing it again in Cat recasts the form, which frees you from roots and snares. The other versions do the same for Bear or for whatever form you're in.

#showtooltip
/cancelform [noform:3]
/cast !Cat Form

Explain line by line

4 other versions

Cancel, then recast

#showtooltip
/cancelform
/cast Cat Form

Explain line by line

Bear instead

#showtooltip
/cancelform [noform:1]
/cast !Dire Bear Form

Explain line by line

Whatever form you're in

#showtooltip
/cast [form:1] !Dire Bear Form; [form:2] !Aquatic Form; [form:3] !Cat Form; [form:4] !Travel Form; [form:5] !Moonkin Form; Cat Form

Explain line by line

Bear on a modifier

#showtooltip
/cancelform [mod,noform:1][nomod,noform:3]
/cast [mod] !Dire Bear Form; !Cat Form

Explain line by line

Furor works differently in Forever: going back into Cat gives you the Energy you had plus 10 for each second you spent out of form, up to 100, so the Classic Energy trick is gone (ForeverChanges). Entering any form still frees you from Polymorph, roots and snares, which is what this key is for now.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances, /cancelaura and /cancelform and what !Cat Form does in Cat Form.

Prowl from any form

Feral · 8 sources

You leave any other form, go to Cat Form and Prowl on the same press.

#showtooltip Prowl
/cancelform [noform:3]
/cast [noform:3] Cat Form
/cast !Prowl

Explain line by line

Another version

Dismount first

#showtooltip Prowl
/dismount
/cancelform [noform:3]
/cast [noform:3] Cat Form
/cast !Prowl

Explain line by line

Prowl doesn't start the global cooldown, so it goes out right after Cat Form on the same press. It has a 10-second cooldown.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances and /dismount.

Dash from any form

Feral · 7 sources

You go to Cat Form if you're not in it and Dash on the same press.

#showtooltip Dash
/cancelform [noform:3]
/cast [noform:3] Cat Form
/cast Dash

Explain line by line

Dash doesn't start the global cooldown and doesn't break Prowl, so it pairs with the Prowl key. It comes at level 26, with a 5-minute cooldown.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances.

Travel, Aquatic or Cat

6 sources

You get Aquatic Form when swimming, Travel Form outdoors and Cat Form indoors, leaving your current form first so one press is enough.

#showtooltip
/cancelform [swimming,noform:2][noswimming,outdoors,noform:4][noswimming,indoors,noform:3]
/cast [swimming] Aquatic Form; [outdoors] Travel Form; Cat Form

Explain line by line

2 other versions

Travel or Aquatic only

#showtooltip
/cancelform [noform:2/4]
/cast [swimming] Aquatic Form; Travel Form

Explain line by line

Dash when already Cat

#showtooltip
/cancelform [swimming,noform:2][noswimming,outdoors,noform:4][noswimming,indoors,noform:3]
/cast [swimming] Aquatic Form; [outdoors] Travel Form; [form:3] Dash; Cat Form

Explain line by line

Aquatic Form comes at level 16 and Travel Form at 30, and Travel Form works only outdoors. Until you learn Travel Form, the outdoor branch fails instead of giving you Cat Form.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances, [indoors], [outdoors] and [swimming] and /cancelaura and /cancelform.

Feral Charge from any form

Feral · 5 sources

You charge the enemy under your cursor, else your target, from Cat or Bear, shifting to Dire Bear Form first if you're in neither.

#showtooltip Feral Charge
/cancelform [noform:1/3]
/cast [noform:1/3] Dire Bear Form
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Feral Charge

Explain line by line

Another version

Bear only

#showtooltip Feral Charge
/cancelform [noform:1]
/cast [noform:1] !Dire Bear Form
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Feral Charge

Explain line by line

Feral Charge comes at level 20 in Forever, doesn't start the global cooldown and has a 15-second cooldown. In Bear it costs 5 Rage, and roots and interrupts the target for 4 seconds.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances and Feral Charge from Cat Form.

Bash from any form

Feral · 4 sources

You shift to Dire Bear Form if you're not in it, and Bash when you are, so the second press stuns.

#showtooltip Bash
/cancelform [noform:1]
/cast [noform:1] Dire Bear Form; Bash

Explain line by line

2 other versions

Enrage for the Rage

#showtooltip Bash
/startattack
/cast [form:1] Enrage
/cast [form:1] Bash

Explain line by line

War Stomp outside Bear

#showtooltip
/cast [form:1] Bash; War Stomp

/cast [stealth] Ravage; Shred

Explain line by line

2 other versions

Explain line by line

#showtooltip
/startattack [combat,nostealth]
/cast [noform:3] Cat Form; [nocombat, nostealth] Prowl; [stealth] Ravage; Shred

Explain line by line

Ravage and Pounce need you to be prowling and behind the target. Ravage comes at level 32, Pounce at 36 and Shred at 22.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances.

Mouse-over Roots or Moonfire

5 sources

You cast on the enemy under your cursor, else your target, without changing target, leaving Cat or Bear first; it suits Entangling Roots, Hibernate, Moonfire, Insect Swarm and Wrath.

#showtooltip
/cancelform [noform:5]
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Entangling Roots

Explain line by line

3 other versions

#showtooltip

/cast Nature's Swiftness
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Entangling Roots

Explain line by line

Keep your form

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Moonfire

Explain line by line

Entangling Roots works indoors in Forever (LePreStore) and holds one target at a time, which makes it crowd control in dungeons. Hibernate works only on Beasts and Dragonkin.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances and /focus.

Instant Healing Touch

Restoration · 5 sources

You leave any form, use Nature's Swiftness and cast an instant Healing Touch on the friend under your cursor, your target or yourself.

#showtooltip Nature's Swiftness

/cast Nature's Swiftness
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Healing Touch

Explain line by line

Another version

#showtooltip Nature's Swiftness
/cancelform
/cast Nature's Swiftness
/cast [mod:shift,harm] Entangling Roots; [mod:ctrl,harm] Hibernate; [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Healing Touch

Explain line by line

Nature's Swiftness is a level-30 Restoration talent with a 3-minute cooldown. It doesn't start the global cooldown, so both spells go out on one press.

Mouse-over Innervate

5 sources

You Innervate the friend under your cursor, else your friendly target, else yourself.

#showtooltip
/cancelform [noform:5]
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Innervate

Explain line by line

Another version

Alt for yourself

#showtooltip
/cancelform [noform:5]
/cast [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Innervate

Explain line by line

Innervate can be cast in Moonkin Form in Forever (ForeverChanges), so the macro only leaves Cat, Bear and the travel forms. It comes at level 40, with a 6-minute cooldown.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances.

Mouse-over Remove Curse

5 sources

You take a curse off the friend under your cursor, else your friendly target, else yourself; Abolish Poison and Cure Poison work the same way.

Explain line by line

Through a friend's target

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][harm,nodead][@targettarget,harm,nodead] Faerie Fire

Explain line by line

Faerie Fire (Feral) is gone in Forever. Faerie Fire itself works in Cat and Bear Form instead (ForeverChanges), so you don't leave your form to cast it. It comes at level 18.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: Faerie Fire in Cat and Bear Form.

Hurricane at your cursor

Balance · 4 sources

You drop Hurricane where your cursor is, without the targeting circle.

#showtooltip
/cast [@cursor] Hurricane

Explain line by line

Hurricane comes at level 40 and is channeled. Some guides put Barkskin on a line before it, but Barkskin starts the global cooldown, so that takes two presses.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: casting at the cursor with [@cursor].

Barkskin from any form

/cancelform [nomod,noform:5]

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the numbers for forms and stances and Barkskin in animal forms.

Lower-rank heal

Restoration · 3 sources

You cast a chosen lower rank on the friend under your cursor, else your target, else yourself, to save mana; Regrowth(Rank 5) and low Rejuvenation ranks are the other usual picks.

Explain line by line

Healing Touch and Rejuvenation have 11 ranks in Forever and Regrowth has 9, learned at the same levels as in Classic. Healing Touch rank 4 comes at level 20.

Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: pinning a rank, like Frostbolt(Rank 1).

Shred, Shred, Shred, Bite

Feral · 2 sources

You press one key for three Shreds and a Ferocious Bite, restarting on a new target; it waits for Energy rather than skipping, and it ignores combo points already built.

Explain line by line

Shred comes at level 22 and Ferocious Bite at 32; before then, Claw and Rip fit the same slots.
