Mage macros
Mage macros mostly cut your own cast short so an instant goes out at once, or sheep something without losing your target. These are the ones that turn up most across 22 independent guides and forum threads, most used first, each written for Forever and checked against the beta spell list.

Mouse-over Polymorph
You sheep the enemy under your cursor, else your target, without losing your target; Fire Blast and Ice Lance work the same way on mouse-over.

You conjure your best water on a left click and your best food on a right click.

You stop your cast and Blink straight away.

Blink comes at level 20, with a 15-second cooldown. In Forever it frees you from Immobilizes as well as stuns, so it gets you out of roots too.
Blizzard or Flamestrike at cursor
You drop Blizzard where your mouse points, rank 1 Blizzard with Shift, or Flamestrike with Alt, without the targeting circle.

You equip a high-Spirit weapon, then channel Evocation so it returns more mana.

You pick a city Teleport with Shift, Ctrl or Alt, or your home city with no modifier.

Fireball or Scorch
You cast Fireball, or Scorch with Shift when you need a shorter cast; Fire Blast in place of Scorch works the same.
