Priest macros
Priests spend most of a fight casting on other people, so their macros are mostly about who a spell lands on. These are the ones that turn up most across 20 independent guides and forum threads, most used first, each written for Forever and checked against the beta spell list.
Most used
Mouse-over heal or buff
You cast on the friend under your cursor, else your friendly target, else yourself, without dropping an enemy target; the same shape suits Renew, Power Word: Shield, Abolish Disease, Fear Ward, Power Word: Fortitude and Power Infusion.
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Flash Heal4 other versions
Alt for yourself
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Power Word: ShieldThrough the enemy's target
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@targettarget,help,nodead][@player] Flash HealShift for the group buff
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover,help,nodead][mod:shift] Prayer of Fortitude; [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Power Word: FortitudeBinding Heal, Prayer of Mending, Divine Grace and Contingency Plan are new in Forever and fit this shape, though Divine Grace can't be cast on yourself. Prayer of Healing heals the target and their party in Forever, so it fits too. You can't cast healing spells in Shadowform, so heals from this key fail in the form.
Mouse-over Dispel Magic
You dispel the unit under your cursor, else your target, else yourself: harmful magic comes off a friend and a buff comes off an enemy.
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,exists,nodead][exists,nodead][@player] Dispel Magic2 other versions
Friends only
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Dispel MagicHeal or damage by target
You cast Renew on a friend and Shadow Word: Pain on an enemy, checking the unit under your cursor before your target; Flash Heal with Smite, or Heal with Mind Blast, work the same way.
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead] Renew; [@mouseover,harm,nodead] Shadow Word: Pain; [help,nodead] Renew; [harm,nodead] Shadow Word: Pain; [@player] Renew2 other versions
Shift for the heal
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover,help,nodead][mod:shift,help,nodead][mod:shift,@player] Renew; [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Shadow Word: PainYou can't cast healing spells in Shadowform, so the Renew half fails in the form. Penance, new in Forever, heals a friend or hurts an enemy on its own (see Penance on friend or foe).
Mind Flay without clipping
You start Mind Flay only when you're not already channeling it, so mashing the key doesn't cut the channel short.
#showtooltip
/cast [nochanneling:Mind Flay] Mind FlayLower-rank heal
You cast a fixed low rank of a heal on the friend under your cursor, your friendly target or yourself, to save mana on small hits; Heal, Flash Heal, Lesser Heal and Renew are the usual picks.
#showtooltip Greater Heal(Rank 1)
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Greater Heal(Rank 1)Another version
Shift for a lower rank
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover,help,nodead][mod:shift,help,nodead][mod:shift,@player] Flash Heal(Rank 4); [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Flash HealMost healing ranks heal less in Forever than in Classic Era before bonus healing (ForeverChanges), so read the tooltip before you pick one. The top ranks are Lesser Heal 3, Heal 4, Greater Heal 5, Flash Heal 7 and Renew 10.
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: pinning a rank, like Frostbolt(Rank 1).
Wand without toggling off
You start the wand, and a second press leaves it firing instead of stopping it.
#showtooltip
/cast !ShootAnother version
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: whether pressing !Shoot again keeps the wand firing and the targeting commands.
Also common
Stop casting and heal
You cancel the cast you're in, such as a slow heal that will overheal, and start Flash Heal on the friend under your cursor, your target or yourself.
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Flash HealDivine Grace, new in Forever, suits this key: an instant heal for a friend below 50% health that also clears Weakened Soul. It comes at level 10, has a 10-minute cooldown, and can't be cast on yourself.
Leave Shadowform and heal
You drop Shadowform and start Flash Heal on the same press, for when a shadow priest has to heal.
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cancelaura Shadowform
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Flash HealIn Forever, Shadowform stops healing spells, where in Classic it stopped all Holy spells. Shadowform comes at level 40.
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: /cancelaura and /cancelform and which spells work in Shadowform.
Buff yourself in order
You cast one buff per press on yourself, in order, without dropping your target; add Divine Spirit or Fear Ward if you have them.
#showtooltip
/castsequence [@player] reset=10 Inner Fire, Power Word: Fortitude, Shadow ProtectionTouch of Weakness and Shadowguard can go in the sequence too if your priest has them; in Classic they were racial spells.
Silence mid-cast
You stop your own cast and Silence the enemy under your cursor, or your target.
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] SilenceAnother version
Silence is a Shadow talent at level 30 with a 45-second cooldown, and no longer needs Improved Psychic Scream (ForeverChanges).
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: /focus.
Mouse-over damage spell
You cast on the enemy under your cursor, or your target if there's none, without switching targets; it suits Shadow Word: Pain, Shadow Word: Death, Mana Burn and Mind Control.
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Shadow Word: PainAnother version
Shadow Word: Death (level 32) and Chastise (level 20) are new in Forever and fit this shape. Chastise only works on Humanoids.
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: /focus.
Inner Focus, then Greater Heal
You fire Inner Focus and a big heal on the same press, so the heal costs no mana and is likelier to crit; Prayer of Healing works too.
#showtooltip Greater Heal
/cast Inner Focus
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Greater HealAnother version
Damage instead
#showtooltip Devouring Plague
/cast Inner Focus
/cast Devouring PlagueInner Focus is a Discipline talent at level 20. It doesn't start the global cooldown and has a 3-minute cooldown, so it and the heal go out on one press. Devouring Plague isn't limited to Undead priests in Forever (ForeverChanges).
Shackle on focus
You shackle your focus, making your target the focus first if you have none, so you can reshackle without switching targets; Shift picks a new focus, and Mind Control works the same way.
#showtooltip
/clearfocus [mod:shift][@focus,dead]
/focus [@focus,noexists]
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead] Shackle UndeadNot confirmed in the Forever beta yet: /focus.
Trinkets with a heal
You use both trinkets and start a heal on the same press.
#showtooltip Greater Heal
/use 13
/use 14
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Greater HealNot confirmed in the Forever beta yet: a trinket and a spell on one press.
Shadow Word: Pain, then wand
You put Shadow Word: Pain on your target and start the wand on the next press; a new target starts the sequence over.
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=target Shadow Word: Pain, !ShootAnother version
Shield first
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=target Power Word: Shield, Shadow Word: Pain, !ShootNot confirmed in the Forever beta yet: a cast sequence starting over on a new target and whether pressing !Shoot again keeps the wand firing.
Psychic Scream, then Fade
You stop casting and fear the enemies around you; press again once Psychic Scream is on cooldown and the same key casts Fade.
#showtooltip Psychic Scream
/stopcasting
/cast Psychic Scream
/cast FadeAnother version
Both spells start the global cooldown, so one press never casts both.
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: Fade after Psychic Scream on one press.
Shadowform without toggling off
You stop casting and go into Shadowform, and pressing it again while you're in the form does nothing instead of dropping it.
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast !ShadowformShadowform is a Shadow talent at level 40 and works as a toggle, so a plain /cast Shadowform while you're in the form takes you out of it.
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: which spells work in Shadowform.
For particular jobs
Smite, Shift for Holy Fire
You cast Smite normally and Holy Fire with Shift held, which saves a key while you level.
#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift] Holy Fire; SmiteDispel a mind-controlled ally
You target the nearest enemy player, which includes a mind-controlled member of your group, and dispel them; it's for fights where the boss mind-controls people.
#showtooltip
/targetenemyplayer
/cast [harm] Dispel MagicResurrect and tell the group
You start Resurrection out of combat and tell your party whom you're raising, but only when your target is a dead friend.
#showtooltip
/stopmacro [combat]
/cast Resurrection
/stopmacro [nohelp][nodead]
/p Resurrecting %t.Shield, then Renew
You shield the friend under your cursor, your target or yourself, then Renew them on the next press; if Weakened Soul stops the shield, the sequence waits until it resets.
#showtooltip
/castsequence [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] reset=10 Power Word: Shield, RenewPower Infusion by name
You target one caster by name, cast Power Infusion on them, go back to your last target and whisper them; put their name where it says Name.
#showtooltip Power Infusion
/targetexact Name
/cast Power Infusion
/targetlasttarget
/w Name Power Infusion on you.Power Infusion doesn't start the global cooldown, so you can press it between casts. It's a Discipline talent at level 40 with a 3-minute cooldown.
Not confirmed in the Forever beta yet: the targeting commands.
New in Forever
Penance on friend or foe
You cast Penance on the unit under your cursor, else your target, else yourself; it heals a friend and damages an enemy, so one key covers both.
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,exists,nodead][exists,nodead][@player] PenancePenance is new in Forever. It comes at level 30, has a 12-second cooldown, and heals a friend or hurts an enemy, so the macro checks exists instead of help or harm.
